Our most frequent questions and answers

Casas particulares are Cuban private homestays, mainly colonial mansions in Havana. Casas have been a popular choice of accommodation in Cuba ever since Fidel Castro allowed Cubans to open their doors to tourists since 1997. They are a great way of getting an authentic insight into Cuban life.

The minimum age is 18.

Cuba is a Spanish speaking country. Many Cuban people speak a good standard of English.

Wi-Fi is available at most hotels and in many open-air plazas and city parks. In order to connect to Wi-Fi you will need to purchase a Wi-Fi card from ETECSA. These are available at hotels and ETECSA establishments. Costs are usually 1 CUC for 1 hour. Most hotels will also offer internet cafes.

Yes. In fact, Cuba was awarded the title of ‘Safest Country’ by FITUR in 2018. Nevertheless, as with any country you should take normal precautions in order to stay safe.

There are no mandatory inoculations required for travel to Cuba, but please check with your GP prior to departure.

British nationals travelling to Cuba must have a full passport valid for at least 6 months after the date of your return, you will also need to complete a Tourist Card (which can be provided by us). Other nationalities will need to check with their embassy for full visa requirements.

We strongly suggest that you take pound sterling  (GBP)or Euros with you. The working currency of Cuba is the CUC (Cuban Convertible Peso). The CUC is what is known as a closed currency and money can only be exchanged whilst you are in Cuba.

We have 3 tours a year. March, August and October. Usually the last 2 weeks of those months, the exact dates are dependent on the flight dates released by the airline.

Yes that is completely fine, the groups are filled with like minded people, which is what makes our tours so unique. Please be aware there is a single occupancy charge of £250

Yes we fly direct with Virgin Airlines from London Gatwick to Havana Cuba. Please see our Itinerary page for full details.

Virgin Airlines current weight limit for our trips is 23kg per passenger.

If necessary (it’s not usually), each passenger can take one extra bag which is £65 extra.

An overweight bag (more than 23kg) may be charged at £65.  This is a flat rate not per kilo, and a single bag must not exceed 32kg.

Once we have your confirmed booking, we will send you an email with full details of how to pay and when the payments are required.  Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer (BACS).

Please note for cheque payments, we cannot confirm your place/s until the cheque has cleared.

No problem, more and more restaurants, hotels, cafes in Cuba now have Vegetarian and Vegan options.

This is very dependent on your taste but we usually recommend on average approx. £700(GBP) per person

The classes include: Partner work, Body Movement, Casino styling, Rueda, Afro Cuban Orishas dance and Rumba technique. All levels of classes are available from beginners to intermediate. The classes you attend will be dependent on your own level but you have the choice to attend any level.

Anyone wishing to join us from outside the UK is more than welcome. We will provide you with the details you need, from there, you should arrange your own flights and join us at the hotel in Havana. You will need to secure your own Visa from the Cuban Embassy and arrange your taxi from the airport to the hotel.
