Day 13
Our final goodbyes and transfer back to Havana to catch our flight back home.
Days 1 to 5
Havana
Havana is Cuba’s capital city. Spanish colonial architecture in its 16th-century Old Havana core includes the Castillo de la Real Fuerza, a fort and maritime museum.
The National Capitol Building is an iconic 1920s landmark. Also in Old Havana is the baroque Catedral de San Cristóbal and Plaza Vieja, whose buildings reflect the city’s vibrant architectural mix.
But, Cuba’s capital is changing and a lot of the cutting-edge art and new wave restaurants are in characterful districts away from the much-visited old city.
Days 6 to 9
Trinidad
Trinidad in central Cuba is known for its colonial old town and cobblestone streets.
Its neo-baroque main square, Plaza Mayor, is surrounded by grand colonial buildings. Museo Romántico, in the restored Palacio Brunet mansion, and Museo de Arquitectura Colonial display relics from the town’s sugar-producing era.
You’ll be reminded how refreshingly undeveloped much of Cuba is when you travel to El Nicho Waterfalls, near Cienfuegos.
Days 10 to 12
Varadero
Varadero, covering Cuba’s narrow Hicacos Peninsula, is a popular beach resort town.
Varadero is always a delightful part of the tour, its beaches alone are worth traveling for. With powder soft sands lapped by waters of the Kawama Channel.
